The Rugby League Varsity Match has announced details for the 34th game between the Blues of Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
In what may now be the longest-running sponsorship in UK rugby league, programme management consultancy Pcubed has been announced as title sponsor and with their support the match will be returning to the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the City of London.
The game will be played on the afternoon of Thursday March 6th 2014 and will see the light and the dark blues battle it out to take a lead over their arch-rivals.
Making the announcement was event’s organiser Mark Ramsdale who said “On behalf of both Oxford and Cambridge University rugby league clubs, I would like to thank Pcubed for their continued support. We’re delighted that they have once again become our headline sponsor and their involvement has enabled the event to grow into what we hope will be a highlight of the rugby league calendar. The move to central London and the City proved a huge success for the Varsity Match and we hope that it will be bigger and better than last years.”
Pcubed’s Head of Business Development – Carl Dalby added “Rugby in the City is a passion of Pcubed. We’ve been sponsoring and supporting the Rugby League Varsity Match for 16 proud years and the move to the HAC in 2013 was a masterstroke for us and the game. There was huge interest in the game from our friends and clients and the event itself – despite appalling weather – was a wonderful experience. We look forward to another great match in 2014.”
