The Rugby League Varsity Match has announced Pcubed as the headline sponsor of the 2016 Battle of the Blues between the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
The global project management firm has been title sponsor since 1999 – half the total number of games between the light and dark Blues.
The 36th encounter will be played at the prestigious Honourable Artillery Company on Friday 4 March 2016 with tickets already selling.
On making the announcement, the Varsity Match’s Director Mark Ramsdale said “we’re delighted Pcubed are continuing to support The Rugby League Varsity Match as headline sponsor for the 18th year. Such longstanding involvement is incredible, and as term starts at Oxford and Cambridge, new players will be joining clubs with a friend that makes their efforts worthwhile.”
The Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match moved to the HAC in 2013 and has since grown significantly. It is the fourth biggest Varsity event in the Oxbridge sporting calendar with students, club old boys and other alumni, parents, City professionals and rugby league fans enjoying a superb spectacle between the ancient universities.
Jean-Michel Adelaide of Pcubed said: “We are extremely proud to be the headline sponsor of The Rugby League Varsity Match for the 18th year running. This event is one of the great days out in Varsity sport. The venue provides such a perfect setting for sport and for rugby league in the City of London. For us, the event embodies our commitment to our customers by demonstrating teamwork, skill and courage to deliver. We are delighted to be involved in this fantastic event and are already looking forward to next year’s Battle of the Blues.”
