The Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match has appointed Laurent-Perrier as its official champagne partner.
The champagne house joins Spitfire Ale as one of the Varsity Match’s official drinks providers and will see their award-winning wines available at the game which takes place on Thursday 6 March at the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the Square Mile.
Laurent-Perrier is not unknown to rugby league fans. They are a partner to the London Skolars Rugby League Club and was most recently seen in the hands of the Australian rugby league team as the Kangaroos celebrated becoming World Champions at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup Final at Old Trafford; and whichever Blues team takes the spoils at the 34th annual match between the universities of Oxford and Cambridge will be able to celebrate in similar style.
Making the announcement was Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match organiser Mark Ramsdale who said “The Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match has a broad appeal and it is fantastic to have Laurent Perrier as our official champagne partner. Alongside our beer partner Spitfire, we are able to cater to all tastes.”
Rob Smith, Chief Financial Officer of Laurent Perrier added “Laurent Perrier is very pleased to become the champagne partner of the Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match. There is a great fit between our wines and those attending the Varsity Match and we are looking forward to what has become a great sporting highlight in the rugby league calendar.”
