The Rugby League Varsity Match has announced Pcubed is continuing its 19-year long running partnership with the match, but is stepping back as headline sponsors of the annual battle between the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
The longstanding headline partnership began before some of the upcoming light and dark Blues players were born, and has been one of the longest consecutive annual sports sponsorship in history.
Making the announcement, Rugby League Varsity Match director Mark Ramsdale said “We are grateful to Pcubed for their 19-year run as headline sponsor and look forward to continuing our partnership and friendship into a new phase as they continue to support the Rugby League Varsity Match in future years”
Richard Siddle, General Manager of Pcubed UK, said “We are naturally sorry to not continue as headline sponsor of the Rugby League Varsity Match. It has been part of Pcubed’s DNA for such a long time. It’s a fantastic day and one we have been proud to support for a record-equalling 19 years. The ethos of teamwork, hard work and going that extra mile that is part of rugby league is one that we value very highly and the reason why we will remain involved in the Varsity Match in the future.”
“We look forward to continuing to work with the Varsity Match and the clubs as the event nears yet another milestone.”
The Rugby League Varsity Match is the annual fixture between the rugby league clubs of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and will celebrate its 40th Anniversary in 2020.
