Reflecting its move to the heart of the City, the Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match has announced a partnership with CityJet, London City Airport’s largest carrier.
The teams from Oxford and Cambridge will take to the field of battle for the 33rd time, at the Honourable Artillery Company on Friday 8th March, in the heart of the Square Mile, where they will be overlooked by some of London’s most iconic buildings.
Announcing the Partnership, Mark Ramsdale of MR Sport said, “We’re delighted to welcome CityJet as a partner for this year’s Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match. Varsity Matches are unique events and the decision was taken to move to the centre of London after we recognised the demand for Oxbridge sport in the capital. To have a central London partner like CityJet is wonderful news as the new format takes off.”
Ben Schaafsma, Head of Marketing, CityJet added, “Our customers travel from London to major cities across Europe and we are proud to be the preferred gateway to the City. Our ethos as a company is that our passengers are more than just customers, and so their interests are our interests as well. In this, we have close ties with rugby throughout Europe, and so were delighted to strengthen these ties by partnering with the Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match. With this partnership, our passengers who are in London for business or pleasure, will now have the chance to see one of the timeless sporting battles.”
