Students, emergency service and military service personnel will be able to watch the 2014 Pcubed Rugby League Varsity Match for £5, a third of the normal £15 gate price.
The 34th annual battle of the Blues of Oxford and Cambridge universities takes place at the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) on Thursday 6th March, and any student or member of the emergency or military services who produces valid ID will receive the greatly reduced price.
The Varsity Match is organised by former Student Rugby League player Mark Ramsdale who explained the idea behind the offer. “There’s the obvious connection with Student Rugby League and the HAC’s relationship with the services dates back to 1537 under King Henry VIII.
“It is also home to a detachment of the Special Constabulary to the City of London Police. This is therefore one way we can thank our servicemen and women, and with rugby league developing quickly in the services and further and higher education, enable people to see the depth of rugby league in the South East and in London.”
